We are delighted to support Berkeley Group in the delivery of Southall Waterside, the significant mixed-use redevelopment of the former Southall gasworks site in the London Borough of Ealing. We are providing extensive Energy and Environmental Consultancy, including the District Heating Masterplan and Low-Energy Façade Optimisation.
On 18th May 2016, Phase A received a unanimous resolution to grant planning. As part of the detailed design we have developed a Low-Energy Façade Optimisation strategy. The approach carefully balances the competing objectives of fabric energy efficiency, overheating and natural daylight in the most cost-effective manner. We are also undertaking all the SAP, SBEM, thermal bridging, BREEAM Assessments, Code for Sustainable Homes, and air tightness testing.
Berkeley Group was selected by National Grid to be its development partner to deliver 3,750 new homes, up to 500,000 sq ft of commercial and community floorspace, a new primary school and significant areas of landscaped public realm and open amenity space. The site lies adjacent to a future Crossrail station. The completed development is currently expected to be delivered over a 25 year period and generate hundreds of jobs during the course of construction and once the development is complete.
