We are pleased to announce that the new Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) store is now open, the store has achieved a BREEAM Refurbishment and Fit Out rating of ‘Very Good’. The iconic US clothing and accessories brand can be found on King’s Cross Boulevard, just moments from the main station entrance in the largest area of urban redevelopment in Europe.
We were appointed by Smart Jones, the project managers for the store to undertake a BREEAM assessment and were tasked to ensure that the bespoke fit out of the unit achieved the required BREEAM rating. We encouraged an initial walk around the unit prior to any fit out works and a workshop with the design team ensured that the whole team understood the requirements and the evidence required to confirm compliance.
We also produced a non-technical building user guide for the store which will help building users access, understand and operate the building efficiently and in a manner in keeping with the original design intent.
