With the help of our technical input, the UK Green Building Council has recently launched a report that focuses on how circularity can support reductions in whole life carbon. We were a key contributor to the report, specifically focusing on maximising reuse to reduce upfront carbon emissions.
The aim of the report was to increase understanding on how circularity can support reductions in whole life carbon. These are two topics that we have in-depth experience in and as such we were able to advise specifically on the ‘maximising reuse’ section of the report. Our experience and input into the research demonstrated that new and existing building projects already use circular economy principles which results in carbon reductions.
The findings of this research that we contributed too are primarily intended to be used by project decision-makers and key built environment stakeholders seeking to strengthen the business case for implementing circularity across their projects.
